Avengers: Infinity War SPOILER TALK

So what did you guys think?

Like holy cow, it was insane!!!!!

Gonna go see it a second time just to take it all in again

Thanos was truly the highlight of the film

They truly did character development for the villian just right with this.  Marvel had done a great job with their main characters through these films but rush the villians like they are disposable.  The Mad Titan gets great treatment on screen.

That whole Peter Parker crying in Iron Man's arms kicks you right in the gut, right?  I know this will eventually have a happy ending, but that hurt.

Dude yes! I was truly surprised they didn't just have this be the excuse to kill off all the old guard, looks like they will all somehow switch places through what happens next year

I enjoyed it, saw it this past Saturday in RealD 3-D. Thanos was definitely awesome in this, I agree with H.C., they did a fantastic job with character development. Favorite part was Banner in the "Hulk Buster" suit. And Thor calling Rocket a rabbit the whole film! lol

Most of the old guard survived.  It was the newer characters like Dr. Strange, Spiderman, Black Panther, White Wolf (aka Winter Soldier/Bucky), etc. that vanished.  You actually have it set right now to where the original comic book Avengers will have to stop Thanos in Avengers 4 next year:  Thor, Iron Man, Capt. America, Hulk, and Ant Man.  I believe that Ant Man, Wasp, and Capt. Marvel will play a big part in restoring everything.

I expect the death of Steve Rogers (or at least his transportaion back to the 1940s) so that Bucky will take up the shield.  I look for this event to rock Stark so that he will willingly move aside and set up the stage for Kiki Roberts to take up the Iron Man type suit.  You may even see Thor lose the new hammer and it choose Jane Foster.  I look for Marvel to move towards the newer incarnation of these characters after this as they say that the movies after Phase 4 won't be so interconnected.  I bet this is why.

People are theorizing that everyone who died is trapped in the Soul Stone and the original Avengers will have to "trade" themselves to save the newer characters

Either way we know that Cap is done, because of Evans contract, and that Black Panther, Spiderman and the Guardians have to come back for their upcoming sequels

Its going to be interesting to see how they do it, anyway it happens I'm sure will be epic/tragic

I don't know if they are trapped in the Soul Stone or if they have been sent to the Quantum Realm.  I am guessing the latter with the end-credits scene summoning Capt. Marvel.  She and Ant-Man, who was also absent from Infinity War", are the only two Marvel heroes in the movies that can maneuver through the Quantum Realm.  I am guessing that the two of them will be most useful in getting all the other characters back except the ones who were actually slaughtered by Thanos like Loki, the Gatekeeper, Vision, etc.

I am betting that Capt. America either dies or gets zapped back into the 1940s and everyone thinks he's dead.  This happened in the comics.  This would allow for Bucky to take up the mantle of Cap. I am betting that Kiki Roberts, the young black lady who steals a female suit that Stark builds for Pepper, becomes the new Iron Man like in the comics.  They may even lay the groundwork for the female Thor as well.  They will either have to pass these characters on to their newer incarnations or will have to recast/reboot.  It is inevitable.

Everyone was shocked when Strange gives away the Time Stone.  I didn't find it shocking as he looked into the future and saw 14 million endings where they lost and only one where they won.  I am guessing that giving up the stone to save Tony was part of that future.  It also shows that all the heroes are not dead because Strange could not have seen past his own death.  They are either trapped inside the Soul Stone or the Quantam Realm.  This will mean that Stark, Capt. Marvel, and Ant Man will all be big players on getting everything back to normal.  Stark will still be a leader, but the other two are the only ones who can get small enough to get inside that stone or realm to release everyone.

Exactly, I am so excited to see which avenue they choose to take to bring back the new heroes, as well as how the old ones may or may not actually die

Apparently, Agents of SHIELD will be tying into this as well. In last night's episode, they found out that Thanos has begun his assault on Earth. I wonder if the Netflix shows will tie into it as well.

Actually, I was hoping that they would bring in a couple of the Netflix heroes into Avengers 4 just to get more muscle in dealing with Thanos.

AoS always at least references the plotlines of the movies, even if the action is offscreen.

I just hope that after they get done with Thanos, the next Marvel movies have more small-scale villains like Arcade, Mysterio, Wizard, and Gray Gargoyle. Kind of a break after all the villains trying to destroy the world (of course, if the Disney/Fox merger goes down, they'll probably make Galactus the next big threat).

I hate that.  It COULD happen as the actors from the Netflix series have said that their contracts with Marvel cover movie rights as well.  So, if they wanted to throw Daredevil, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, or The Punisher into the fold, they could.

With AoS, I think it is time that Capt. America knows that Coulson is alive.  I also believe that Sky/Daisy/Quake could be a great helper in taking down Thanos.  If the heroes could surprise Thanos, she could shake either the stones off his gauntlet or vibrate the glove off him.  Then, they could use the Infinity Gauntlet to restore everyone to the right timeline.
