First Strike and other great bands you never heard of

There is bunch of great bands that did one record and disappeared the scene right after that.

One of those is First Strike that made just one album "Rock of offense". I have been listening to it a lot in Youtube and I just love it. It is good old fashioned 80´s hard rock with great choruses and melodies.

As far as I know it was never available in cd-format. I´d love to get that one!

Is there other awesome bands that didn´t make it though they were great?

I love the first strike album..I have a remastered digital version that a friend gave me...

Another cool band is Regime...

Those are both some good hard rock bands.

That's why most have never heard of them.  I only know Loneliness Kills from the Heaven's Metal comp.

It's hard to make a list of bands I've never heard of.

I´ve been listening to First Strike from Youtube, but I´m aching to have it. Is anyone having it on tape with quality so good I could buy or trade it. I´d love to convert it into cd

I have a bootleg copy of First Strike on CD.  I bought it from Retrospect Records.  They were gonna have that reissued on CD at one time and the remastering was even done, but then the band backed out for some forgotten reason.  So, if you can find a cassette or boot copy, good luck.

I never cared much for First Strike.

There's a bunch of bands that get a lot of respect that were never heard from on the big stage. Legacy, Broken Silence, Shadow Wings, Regime, etc.

L.O.U.D. got to see them in Washington,PA at a club called "Not of this world" was and old Moose Lodge if memory serves me. They had a great show. Of course that was eons ago.

Sentry was another great band Sick of the Darkness was there best out the two tapes they brought out Breakin' Free.

Xalt - Dark war wish it was released on cd.

I love this band...This gets played alot in my home..

I remember talking to a guy in the early 90s who was in a band called Fully Clothed Insomniacs.  Anyone ever heard of them?

I have Chosen Stranger, Straightway, and Follower all three on CD from Retrospect Records.  I think they are all decent listens from time to time.

Alldat mentioned Lex Rex. I always enjoyed the one album they put out (Beat The Heat)

They had an indie release called "The Devil's Night" that Lex Rex also did.  Good luck finding anything more than MP3s of that!

Whoa... I never knew that. I originally got turned on to Lex Rex because they were being played on the rock show on the local Christian radio station here in Chicago back in 1991 or so. They were a good band who I thought should have gone further.

They seemed like they were on a dead end label (Pan-Trax). But looking at what came out of that label was the band Ruscha. Which is a band I only know about because they seemed to make it on those "Christian rock" various artists tapes back in the day.

Broken Silence was a decent band that never got notoriety. This is one of my favorite tracks from their one album, Discerning the Times:

At least Broken Silence did get a proper reissue and a tad more recognition later on.  I have that on CD.
