Anybody care to give some input? New song.
Hi folks,
today I finished work on a new piece of Metal from the Doom/Thrash area. I'd like to invite you to give me some input.I'm looking for earnest thoughts. What is good and what is bad? Is there something you would change? Is it interesting, boring, cheesy? I'd appreciate any input.
The piece is part of a CD I'm making in order to raise money for the research of a treatment of Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy.

Well, the link I provided was broken. If you're still interested, here is the correct one:

Thank you for the feedback! Currently I'm working on the next song which will be harder and darker.

Not much for the slower bits, but I see the talent. The thrashy riffs sound really good and I dig the production! Let me know if you'd like this track mastered. I can do that for you.
What type of vocals are you planning on having?

Thanks for your response, I appreciate it! I'm happy you like it. Currently I'm working on the bass track of my sixth piece, which comes along quite good. As I wrote earlier this one will be featured on my charity CD. Thank you for offering your help with the mastering I'd be happy to let you master it. As soon as its finished I can send all the tracks of the piece to you and you can do your magic. Mixing and mastering isn't my area and I'll be hapy to have support. Perhaps, if we get along and you would have fun doing it, can you imagine mastering all the songs for the CD?
I'm on the lookout for a singer / shouter / growler who cando a variety of voicings. Clean singing will not be required but raw and dark growling with an occasional shrieking would be perfect. I'm thinking of singing similar to the secular band Zyklon (split-up). Christian Alvestam would be my favorite but I doubt he'll help me out. Maybe I should ask him anyway?
Actually I was hoping for several prominent singers but I only got contact to one who's been huge with his band but it didn't work out.
Do you sing?

This is really great. I love the warm, thick production. Very easy on the ears.
I feel like the era of the shout-grind-cookie monster vocal is basically over. It's been done to death. You should be considering clean, powerful vocals over this. Someone with a tonally recognizable voice could really make this stand out from the pack. Death/Black metal vocals would be expected. Melody would not. Do the unexpected and get noticed. My two cents.
But yeah, nicely written and played. Well done.

What a wonderful song. The sound is deep and warm. yet it's still brutal.

I like it, sounds catchy, but it's a little predictable. The main riff is great - I think with more planning you would have a real hit...
Now take what I say with a grain of salt though, because thrash isn't what I usually listen to...
