This made me laugh.  I assume it's a joke, and if not I sincerely apologise.  As it happens my wife is flicking through the original currently, which concerns me.

At the moment I'm reading Master and Margarita by Bulgakov (very slowly as it's a PDF on the tablet which gets regularly stolen by the kids).  Quite engaging with a unique style butI can tell I'm missing something from the translation or the cultural references.

I'm at chapter 7 of Hosea right now. I'll admit it's quite heavy, reading through the Old Testament. But I want a better understanding of the New Testament, that's why I started this whole Bible reading project Smile

I used the Bible app last year to read through in a year. It was a lot more than I expected, but was well worth it. Gave me a fresh perspective on the word.

Just finished Andrew Breitbart's Righteous Indignation.

I hightly recommend it with the warning that it has a few crass moments with vulgarities. but, it tells a fantastic story and explains a lot about what is going on in the culture.

No.  I am reading it for several reasons.  One, I am a fan of Craig's previous books.  I like his writing style.

Second, we all struggle some with being a part of the selfie generation.  As we all become more locked into social media, the more anti-social we become.  We also have more and more hang ups about relationships.  I don't do well with deeper relationships.  I must not--I don't really have any other than my wife.  I don't even have any real friends I hang out with.  So, I felt this book might help.

Third, reading it for my youth is also a good thing.  We all need to deal with our social media usage whether it be Facebook, LinkedIn, SnapChat, Instagram, or even old school message boards.

It seems to me that the social media tech that we have now days play well into encouraging our inherent narcissism, especially with those who are less mature, typically youth.

I understand the difficulty of gaining friendships. I'm just as eccentric as you and just about most around on this board is, all in our different ways. Also, now that I'm married with 3 children, I have little time to hang out. Most of my friend time is cell phone chats on my average hour long commute on way home after work, or a little bit of chat via the FB.

I'd be curious if you'd share some of the interesting points you take away when you are done.

I think that Rachel is a better storyteller than Ted.  I liked his early novels that were mostly stand alone stories.  I enjoyed the original Circle trilogy.  But, he's gotten to the place that his books are more about universe building and everything ties into that Circle and the Books of the Histories.  I am tired of all that.

She only has three out thus far and it is a series.  It is very similar to the Hunger Games trilogy of books.  The government has taken over and is trying to control everyone.  With this series, though, the government is using the Veritas (a twisted version of the Bible) to control everyone.  Everything they do is supposedly purposed by God.  However, the rebellion is led by this character named Aaron who is very much like Jesus.  That is about the best I can do to describe this without ruining it for you.
