I haven't heard a thing.  It would be good if they were back.

Of course, there have been many rumors about comebacks by several bands over the years.  Sadly, until the new album is in my hands, I am never quite convinced.  Many of these rumors start off with good intentions but never materialize.

Yes, they are planning to play at Audiofeed Festival in July and perhaps a few gigs in Texas.

I got to see them play live in Nashville many moons ago during GMA week.  They filmed a live video in this club.  There were only a handful of fans there as the previous show was earlier.  OBP didn't play until after 10.  Most of the crowd left after seeing Bride.  Anyway, the band got those of us present to take these ginormous cans of silly string and spray them with them.  I let the lead singer have it.  He looked like a multi-colored Cookie Monster when I got through unloading that can.

Man, good times!

Normally I don't ask "do they still have it" when a long dormant band makes a comeback attempt.  This time I will.  The style of music they play requires a different energy level from classic rock or metal.  Can they still pull off the silly string, smash the guitar antics?  They opened their Cornerstone 2000 set as "the Grandfathers of Christian Punk" dressed as grandfathers in wheelchairs.  What are they now, the Great-grandfathers of Christian Punk?

Don't get me wrong, I love The Pig!  If we get 20+ years of pent up songwriting energy released on us it could be awesome!

As far as could they, I would have to say yes!  Look at the newest album by Lust Control.  While it was more mature in the songwriting, LC was ever bit as fun as before.  I see no reason why OBP couldn't.

So do I!  I was most saddened by Leonard Nimoy's death.  My father and I spent some years not getting along.  Playing bass and watching Star Trek was about all we really had in common.  When Mr. Nimoy passed, it saddened me because it reopened me missing my dad.  I know--that's probably wacked in the head.

I love One Bad Pig, too!
