The Arbiter (doom/death)

I'm surprised I hadn't made a thread about this band already but the search came up with nothing.  Anyways, any fans of The Arbiter here?  It's a solo project by the Gergely who's also behind Irgalom (and numerous other projects).  The Arbiter plays melodic doom/death metal, utilizing both death and clean vocals.  Lyrics are primarily straight from the Bible which I especially appreciate.  The Arbiter has two full-lengths and a split album, though just released the split material on a new release with three cover tunes (which are great).  Highly recommended!

There must be threads somewhere! Maybe I picked them up from following Gergely on FB? I see you on there all the time by your last name (my name is Mark Kell). So, I suppose I just assumed it was a CMR thing too.

Anyway, I really enjoy what he's doing with the style. Both albums have tons of great ideas and excellent atmosphere though. It's like Candlemass turned Doom/Death in some ways. I just wished the 2nd album had more diversity. It needed something to bust it up. I never got through whole concentrated listens.

Reality is, I was hoping this thread was you posting about a 3rd album in the works. If he can up the ante on the next one I'll truly be pumped because Doom/Death is a favorite style of mine.

I liked the 1st album "Water From The River Of Life."  
I thought "My Messenger" was a weaker release but liked the split CD.

The new E.P. was released on Dec. 29, 2021 and as Kerrick said, has 3 new songs and 3 cover songs.

Love it! Late last year i picked up the CD's "My Messenger" and the 3 way split, "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord" featuring 3 songs by The Arbiter.
Something about the sound reminds me of Ashen Mortality and My Silent Wake, might be the growl vocals? His singing vocal are great and a very nice contrast. Really enjoy them, the 3 Blessed tracks are the stand outs. Now i already want the first album and this new one. The Deliverance cover is awesome too!
