all Circle of Dust fans must click here

Post by force perspective on Thu Nov 19, 2015 9:25 am

I'm not sure if this should be posted in the "Christian" section or not, but whatever..

Klayton announced this today on his new Circle of Dust Facebook page

"Since you guys are in this small, underground "Circle of Dust" club, I'll let you in on a secret: I had an idea today that will make a few of you pretty happy. 2016 may shape up to be more than just the re-release of all my old albums with a *couple* of new tracks. Yeah, I'm thinking maybe more than a couple would be a better idea...."

It looks like Klayton will release a NEW CoD record in 2016 along with re-releasing all 3 Circle of Dust records with improved sound quality, unreleased tracks and some re-records possibly. This is the best news I've heard from Klayton. I miss his guitar heavy music and I'm glad he does too.

I wonder who is re-releasing them. I think Retroactive has at least one album that they had re-released.

Interesting news.  I'd love to hear some new stuff or unreleased old stuff...but...I thought he viewed CoD as his "Christian" band and he isn't a Christian anymore (I hope I'm wrong on this).  Sorry, I don't mean to start THAT discussion but I think it's a legit concern for a Christian hoping for new "Christian" stuff from him.

Yeah, Retroactive reissued at least the self-titled debut and Brainchild.  As far as I know the (superior) re-record of the s/t has never been reissued.

This is GREAT news for me!!! I'm a HUGE Circle of Dust fan!!!
I'm a fan of Cell Dweller too, but not nearly as much!

I'll be buying each of these new rereleases for sure!!!

I don't really care if Klayton is a Christian anymore or not (I mean- I would prefer that he was), but as an artist his spiritual views mean little to me. He could be satanic now and I'd still buy his stuff. But then again - I'm not a religious Christian.

Maybe Klay is going through some powerful spiritual changes. That's awesome if so! I think for a while there he denied his faith in Christ. At least I remember reading something of that nature. I have been a fan of Klay through thick and thin though. I am still into anything he creates pretty much. I still have some holes to fill in my collection though.

Yeah ... I hear you Metal Blessing.

The last Celldweller album actually has lots of tones of God in it. I wouldn't say ... "Christian" ... but at least you get the sense he's not an atheist any longer.

This song "Lost in Time" is from CellDwellers new album End of an Empire. These lyrics sound like a cry out to God to me.
-------------------------------------

When I'm lost in time
I'm lost in time

The criminal in time
He is stealing and feeling

I'm not crying
But I'm dying
And I can't help but feel I'm running out of time

A problem I'm not solving
Eternally revolving
I wandered from the pathway
Praying you will come to save me

I feel lost in time
but if I wait for direction my lifetime will pass me by
I feel lost in time
I think if I live for forever this feeling will never die

The criminal in time
He's not healing all revealing

I can't deny
I question why
And I cant help but feel like I be lost in time

A problem I'm not solving
Eternally revolving
I wandered from the pathway
Praying you will come to save me

I feel lost in time
but if wait for direction my lifetime will pass me by
I feel lost in time
I think if I live for forever this feeling will never die

Lost in time
Lost in time
I am criminal without a crime
I am a genius without a mind
Always a reason but there's never a rhyme
How can patience be my virtue when I'm out of time?
(I'm out of time)

I am criminal without a crime
I am a genius without a mind
Always a reason but there's never a rhyme
How could I know where I'm going when I'm lost in time

I wandered from the pathway
Praying you will come to save me (PLEASE COME TO SAVE ME!)

I feel lost in time
but if wait for direction my lifetime will pass me by
I feel lost in time
I think if I live for forever this feeling would never die

(PLEASE COME TO SAVE ME!)

This feeling will never die
I'm lost in time
This feeling will never die
I'm lost in time
Never
Ever
Die

PLEASE COME TO SAVE ME!

I'm lost in time
This feeling will never die

This is great news and I'm very excited, not because I'm a huge Circle of Dust fan but because I long to see Christian industrial music thrive, no matter the decade. Also reading that he acquired the rights to Argyle Park makes me jump for joy. I LOVE THAT ALBUM MORE THAN YOU CAN POSSIBLY KNOW.

I am really excited about this - especially the bonus material.  I love CoD (just dont get into the Brainchild album much), love Celldweller and his other project - Scandroid.  Klay has put out some really cool music.

I think people misunderstand the CoD though.  I remember on forums people were calling it God inspired and all, but he said in an interview something like he never wanted a Christian record deal, but it was the only one he could get at the time and was already disillusioned with the church at that point....

And yet, the lyrics are pretty heavily Christian on those first few albums....that was his choice.  Cynical and dark, but meaty all the same.

Klayton has always interested me, I remember stumbling onto argyle park and could never really figure out his stance on things. from the posts above it sounds like he came out as a full "athiest"?. Maybe ill get bored and google a bunch of his latest interviews. Those lyrics are pretty bold in terms of meaning only a handful of ideas.

In other news, Christian industrial... maybe its time to get back into that.

Edit: In an AMA on reddit, he did mention God being a source of inspiration.

I really look foward to the brand new album in Dec this year that will feature this song....

I'm also gonna get the rereleases of the first album, Brainchild, and maybe other albums...even though i still have the original cds.

It has that classic circle of dust/brainchild sound with a modern production - love playing this in my car....trying not to play it too much as I can't wait til the brand new album arrives late in 2016.

I like the lyrics eg -

"We've all succumbed to misdirection, Lost in the concerns of our own lives, Sedated willingly by our technology, Ignorant bliss until we die, Willing transmission of disease, Worship new deities Contagion"
