Is it possible for several bad things to happen to stop one big bad thing?

Sorry if this sounds confusing but lets say the spiritual warfare is heated. And something very bad is going to happen to you but spiritual forces stop it instead of something worse happening, you have something annoying or inconvenient happen. Here are some examples just in 2015 alone, all of these major annoyances and hits to the checkbook:

Washing machine dies - $800 
Refrigerator quits then not delivered on time as scheduled - $1000
Dishwasher stops working, but I am able to get it to work, it is only a matter of time before it quits permanently (No cost -- yet).
Dog needs emergency surgery $300 (then dies anyway 3 months later).
Front door breaks, need new door $500
Back door breaks, I fix myself $50
Roof leaks, get repaired for $2000 (three weeks ago)
Brand new water heater (1 year old) springs a leak - not the water heater but the line going to it - $125 (yesterday)
Same day, no hot water pressure, so low the shower will not engage. Plumber returns next day to inform us our 60 year old galvanized pipes need to be replaced - $2500 to be done after the first of the year.
While I am on the phone with him my wife calls to inform me the  ROOF IS LEAKING in the SAME spot before it was fixed. Raining buckets today thru Dec 24 and repair man still hasn't showed  up at home. 

Anyway, this is how I explained it to my wife. Maybe something worse was gonna happen so instead we were given an inconvenience instead... While costly (and there are more I did not list) at least we have our health and each other.  Since this is the Prayer & Praise area of the forum let's give a PRAISE for an annoying inconvenience. Things could be worse. I know Dave Ramsey says to have $1000 in emergency funds in a savings account but this year ours has been drained by all the "emeregency" expenses. As Dave says, "It isn't a matter of IF something breaks, it's a matter of WHEN". Apparently for us it was 2015.....

Im a believer in that all things happen for a reason we may not know right away

Yes. Events happen for a reason. I think you got the right perspective. You have the best things next to God, each other.

BTW, since it sounds like you own the house, if you have a little equity, you might consider opening a HELOC for emergency funds. That's what I do.

I'm more of a believer in the idea that "Things Happen" (Things isnt the word I would use but on this forum it is the word I will use   ) And the idea of "When it Rains it pours"..sounds like you have had a time but things will get better...Hang in there Mike..

Series of bad financial things (except for dog, sorry for it :/ ) who can or can not be premonitory of something worse to me...
I will pray for you tonight.

Whenever I start feeling like there is too much happening to me that I can't handle, I read Job to put it all back into perspective. And I also remind myself of Gods promise in Romans 8:28 that God works good and evil in the Believers life for a purpose.
