Re: Recently Experienced Shows
My wife Diana and I, along with our friend Stephanie Willey, will be seeing Stryper live tonight in Sacramento on the To Hell With The Devil 30th Anniversary tour at Ace of Spades. We (Diana and I) also bought two meet and greet packages to meet them before the show. This will be my second time seeing them live and Diana and Stephanie's first. The packages were expensive for us, but worth it. It's actually a bit surreal that I'll be seeing them on this tour (I missed the original THWTD tour in 1986), because my first ever Stryper concert took place in my hometown of Pueblo, Colorado on October 28, 1990 at the Chief Theater on the Against The Law tour. Tonight's show falls 10 days before the 26th anniversary of the ATL Stryper show, so it's come full circle for me. This is going to be a killer show. I'll do my best to post pictures (and video, depending on if I can hold my phone steadily enough to record without shaking).

I wish I could see them on this tour as well, but they never tour in the Pacific Northwest!

I was thinking of going. Not likely as it's a long drive on a work night.ChosenNightwolf wrote:My wife Diana and I, along with our friend Stephanie Willey, will be seeing Stryper live tonight in Sacramento on the To Hell With The Devil 30th Anniversary tour at Ace of Spades. They are playing with quite a few bands on this tour it appears. Pretty exciting times. They're even playing with Petra and Whitecross in Indianapolis next week http://www.songkick.com/concerts/28078949-stryper-at-egyptian-room-old-national-centre

Re: Recently Experienced Shows
Getting ready to see this, this coming week in Portland
This is going to be a very emotional and life long remembered day for me, For Today is one of my favorite bands of all time, and I have grown up with them, they were the first band's album I bought with my own money and its going to be amazing in the fact that I have VIP tickets and that Norma Jean and Silent Planet will be opening for them
I will for sure post tons of pics, after the show Wednesday

We saw The Newsboys last weekend. Decent show. A lot of folks, even younger ones, began leaving because it was too loud.

Re: Recently Experienced Shows
(sorry my (bad) enklishhh, but some thoughts about yesterday....)
Sunday evening starting 8.pm (in Tampere, Finland) I was listening SKILLET.
I`m not a big fan of the band or even this type of music, but the show was great. Small club, mayby 400 person in audience, awfull noise, 90 minutes gig... very intense atmosphere. Me liked.
I´ve never listened the band`s music before and I was`nt even about to go to the show, but a friend of mine asked me to go there with him, so I tought why not. Quite expensive ticket, but on the other side, I have`nt been on any gig for a while, so I quess it was a time.
Show was very energy and the band was excellent. The drummer (female) really surprised me positively. Her way to play was very aggressive and visual, like was the rest of the band too. One of the best shows I`ve ever been.
But I´m still not gonna be a fan of the band...yet anyway, but will propably go to the next show, if there ever will be one here.

Re: Recently Experienced Shows
Just saw Silent Planet!
One of the best shows of my life.
Got to hang out and talk with the band before the show one on one for about an hour, really got to ask them cool questions about lyrics and faith
Also got to see The Ongoing Concept a 5th time in a year and a half.
Also got to see half of Phinehas that was on tour with Silent Planet
Got tons of stuff signed by all 3 bands, pretty sick show!

Why is that funny? When the bass drum is all you hear and it literally hurts you because it is cranked up so high, who wants to sit through that? It drowns out the rest of the music and gives you a garbled mess that isn't pleasant at all. I've sat through louder concerts but the mix was great. That Newsboys show was horrible due to sound quality and loudness.
I went to Winterjam recently with my church kids. Except for Crowder and Britt Nichole, the rest of the artists had the same problems--especially Thousand Foot Krutch. The mix on them was so poor that, if I had not known their music, I literally couldn't tell one song from another. Even Newsong who builds this event was so loud that you couldn't tell what they were singing. We've sacrificed LOUDNESS for quality both in live settings and in the way we master music. It lacks definition. If I am going to pay to see a show (we did the higher package for Winterjam just so we wouldn't have to stand in long lines), I want to hear a QUALITY mixed show--not have something that is going to make my ears bleed and my heart get out of rhythm by being slammed by a bass drum that some engineer fresh out of diapers has no idea how to set up the sound for the room.
Re: Recently Experienced Shows
I saw Diablo and Kypck last Saturday here in Seinajoki, Finland. I'm volunteering at a local club called Rytmikorjaamo, so I tend to see many gigs in a year for free. Though I'm working, it's not that busy. So there's plenty of time watching gigs.
Kypck was very interesting. Finnish band that plays metal in russian language . Interesting enough, and the music was great.
Diablo was celebrating their 20th anniversary and played nearly 2 hours. At the first set they played their latest album "Silvër Horizon" in full. And after a short break they played some of their most well-known songs. What a night of metal that was.
I recommend you to check them both

Winterjam is always a blast! Loved seeing Red last year, Britt Nicole and Crowder were very entertaining as well
On last years I really enjoyed Tedashii, knowing his testimony makes his music better
