Of Gods & Monsters (Tim Gaines, Deen Castronovo, Joey Tafolla)
Of Gods & Monsters is a new band that's just released its debut album, "Sons of Armageddon." The band members are:
Tim Gaines - bass
Deen Castronovo - drums
Joey Tafolla - guitars
Kevin Goocher - vocals
This definitely leans toward metal more than hard rock. I haven't been able to pick a favorite track yet, but I'm diggin' the album overall. Here are a few tracks:
Thought I'd post this in the Christian metal section of the forum, since it pertains to Tim Gaines, though I can't discern anything explicitly Christian in the lyrics. Feel free to move it to a different forum if that's preferable.

I’m digging this .... thanks for posting.... is this out on cd or vinyl? I saw a couple of singles on iTunes, but not a whole album.

Haven't heard Goocher since the Phantom X albums. This guy is a classic, worked on later Omen albums.

Enjoyed Joey Taffola's work in Jag Panzer.
Dean is a busy guy these days, he's also singing for Revolution Saints, going on tour with The Dead Daisies, drumming for Neal Schon’s Journey Through Time plus his guest singing with Tourniquet, etc. Wish I had his energy....
So far I am finding these tracks kind of generic, although I like the "Feast Of Hate" because it has an old-school Hexx / Wild Dogs kind of vibe to it.

They don't seem to be doing a very good job promoting this album, IMO. With names like they have in this lineup, you'd think they could get the word out about it. It looks like they have a link on their Facebook page for buying the physical CD: https://www.facebook.com/pg/ofgodsandmonstersmusic/shop/?ref=page_internal
I've seen the whole album available digitally on Amazon and Google Play.

Doesn't sound bad, not sure I want to spend $20 (that is with shipping) on it though. I will have to give it some thought.

Of coarse Deen’s drumming is solid! But I don’t like the vocals at all...

Same and when I heard these I imagined how much better they would sound with Deen on vocals.TZ75 wrote:Of coarse Deen’s drumming is solid! But I don’t like the vocals at all...

I'm liking the sound, but I'm not crazy about the vocals.

I can't find their lyrics anywhere.
I saw Omen many years ago when Kevin was singing for them and thought he sounded really good.

Compare the vibe in Feast of Hate to JP's Electric Eye

Listening to Kevin Goocher, I keep hearing John Schlitt.

Hmmm, maybe a little, I hear some Mike Howe also. In fact, Fighting Fire with Fire has a Metal Church vibe.

The band seems to have undergone quite a change. The new album has a totally different lineup except for Kevin Goocher.
IRA BLACK, SIMON WRIGHT, KEVIN GOOCHER, BJORN ENGLEN

Basically, it looks like all of the Christians were pushed out

Simon Wright is an amazing drummer.

Does anyone know if this band has Christian lyrics?

A little Dio vibe in the vocals?
