Extol - Of Light and Shade DVD

I haven't seen it but i'd like to. Problem is, I tend to only watch these once.

I have it and watched it.  It's cool.  Not great, but interesting.  Probably the most polite, calm metal documentary I've ever seen!  Ha.  Mostly just the guys sitting around talking softly about their music and why they quit awhile back and how they got back together.  But it doesn't go too much into depth.  Some nice interviews with Pastor Bob too.

The live footage is all bootleg stuff of not very high quality.

I bought it just to support the band, but I wouldn't call it essential watching.  Just get it if you want to support them and maybe they'll put out a new album!

I pre-ordered it 2 years ago, and just got it in the mail a week or so ago. I need to find some time to sit down and watch.

I just finished the set today.  I enjoyed it immensely.  The bonus live footage is pretty dodgy like strangerhoncho says--at least serves as some kind of document, but doesn't warrant repeat viewing.  Some of the interview segments were fantastic, especially David & Ole's conversation at the restaurant during mixing; also Pastor Bob's full interview on disc 2--I can't believe how cool that dude is.

As a Christian making music in a scene alongside mostly unbelievers, Extol's motivations really resonated with me.  My wife, a visual artist, was also moved by a lot of what got discussed.  She & I had some great conversation and processing time because of it.  I'm really glad I bought it!
