Re: IS CHRISTIAN METAL DEAD
80's metal could make a good comeback if people weren't treating it so corny.
I've seen some of these 80's metal "comeback" type bands, and their just too corny to take seriously. I don't think they're helping the 80's metal scene in any way.

Yeah pretty much. It had it's day in the late eighties early 90's.Guest wrote:Is Christian metal dead? Are there no new releases or new bands? Is this board shy about new bands? I read all kinds of reviews and metal news about new albums and bands on Angelic Warlord yet never see them discussed on the CMR...and when a new band is brought up the threads die quick.. whats up with that..are there too many here stuck in a past decade of Christian metal?

Nope, but thanks for turning me onto some great new bands! Enforcer and Wolf are awesome!

Re: IS CHRISTIAN METAL DEAD
I'm tired of threads/posts like this (no offense stranger). As long as you have people like us who buy and enjoy this music and you have the veteran bands like Stryper, Petra, Deliverance and Bloodgood setting the bar for quality song writing, bold Christian lyrics and a ministry pattern and a fresh breed of newer bands like Theocracy, Chaotic Resemblance and Desyre, hard rock/metal, Christian or mainstream, will never die. It may change and evolve, but it will never die.

Hopefully Temple of Blood will keep it alive.
Thank you very much!
Re: IS CHRISTIAN METAL DEAD
I think for music in general, the further we go into the future, the more unoriginal things get. It seems everything has been done and regurgitated more than a few times since heavy metal was created. The word “stagnant” comes to mind.
I think all we can hope for is that the bands that do their thing continue to do it well and keep the quality a high standard.
I’ll admit that I’m very nostalgic. When ideas were a lot more fresh in the early 80’s to the early 90’s!

Re: IS CHRISTIAN METAL DEAD
Metal, in general, isn't thriving at the moment. I'd imagine Christian Metal would be even more underground. Just takes some more digging, I'd guess, to find some independent bands.
