I saw that movie in japanese in theaters. It was awesome. The day before, or after, I saw Graveyard of the Fireflies. Oh man, that was a mistake.RavenWolf wrote:

Re: Recently Watched Movies
Finally finished "Jurassic World". Not bad. I didn't care too much of the ending. I kind of wish they made this the last one and finished it out.

Re: Recently Watched Movies
Nah, so I had to read the subtitles. There's an indie theater, that was bought by a local chain, that used to run movies as they were originally. I don't know, it was different, so I enjoyed it.RavenWolf wrote:Peter who was Vaak wrote:I saw that movie in japanese in theaters. It was awesome. Also, only watch graveyard of the fireflies if you are in the mood for watching the most depressing movie ever. No joke, watching a puppy die isn't half this sad.

Star Wars - The Force Awakens. Somewhat disappointed.
Interstellar. Great film. What 2001 - A Space Odyssey should have been.

I love this documentary!!! I got it for my son for Christmas - as he loves nature documentaries! This is one of the best I've seen. If not the best!

I'll be in prayer for your ability to enjoy the new Star Wars.

Re: Recently Watched Movies
Loved Interstellar. There were a few holes in the plot, but overall I think it was a solid movie.
Re: Recently Watched Movies
Watched Ant-Man last night. Better than I was anticipating. Don't know exactly WHAT I was anticipating, but it was very enjoyable if somewhat predictable once a few major plot points were staked out. Nowhere near the level of Guardians of the Galaxy, but good enough considering Ant Man is one of the Matvel characters I've never really cared about.
The Force Awakens was almost perfection for me. I find it to be very true to what has been established with the first 6 films, and the characterization a may be even a little deeper than some folks appreciate......That said, do not go to a film with JJ Abrams attached to the writer's or director's seat and expect anything other than a patented JJ Abrams film. If you expect something other than that going in, you're just being silly.

I like Christopher Nolan and I like the visual aspect of Interstellar, but his understanding of science is atrocious.

Re: Recently Watched Movies
I haven't seen Interstellar but I haven't seen a Nolan film that I've really liked since Memento. (I've seen all of his movies except his first one and Interstellar.)
I'm with David on Star Wars... It was decent but nothing to write home about by any means.

Have they EVER really been that, though? They're pulp fiction space opera, along the lines of 50's era Buck Rodgers or Flash Gordon, they've just in essence been deified by the masses over the last 40 years.
They were never "great cinema".....

Ant-Man - Highly entertaining - not a lot of brains needed to enjoy, but some truly hilarious moments
Fantastic Mr. Fox - I seem to be the only person in the family who enjoyed this movie

I knew you'd comment. Believe it or not, I bought the movie before I watched it, and here's why.
It costs me anywhere from $1.25 to $3.50 to rent a movie depending on if I use Redbox or the local video rental store.
It costs me fuel and time to drive there and back and then drive there and back again when returning it.
So, if there is a movie I want to see, I just buy it from Amazon when it's on sale for $5.00 and have it shipped free via Prime. I get to watch, and if I like it, I can watch it again and again. If I don't like it, the money is not really lost.

Re: Recently Watched Movies
Just watched "Ant-Man": Loved it. I used to be an Ant-Man fan back when I was a wee little runt.
Finished "Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind". I thought it was a little trippy, but in the end finished up nicely.

Re-watched The Amazing Spider-Man 2. I love Andrew Garfield version of Spidey and wished they had kept him, but the movie was abysmal.
