Video games
Anyone here collect video games?
I have a pretty sizable collection across many systems. Wondering if anybody here shares my enthusiasm for games.

Re: Video games
Me.
I collect mostly PS1 and SNES area games, ones I enjoyed as a teenager or young adult. I do have a few Genesis games as well but the collection is no where as big as the rest.
Other than that I have a decent size of games from some of the newer systems.

Re: Video games
Nice! I'm definitely lacking in my PS1 and Genesis collection. I got a 32X for my Genesis at a flea market, but the primary visual channel is defective, so I can't play anything on it. Makes for an interesting screen saver, though. XD
My system numbers are as follows (approximated while looking at the shelf and not actually counting):
NES: 2 games
Game Boy: 3 games(?)
Genesis: ~5 games
32X: 2 games
SNES: ~15 games
GBC: ~10 games
Saturn: 1 game (no system yet!)
PS1: ~5 games
N64: ~15 games
GBA: ~20 games
PS2: ~30 games
GameCube: ~80 games
Xbox: ~10 games
DS: ~30 games
PS3: ~10 games
Wii: ~70 games
X360: ~20 games
PSP: ~7 games
3DS: ~7 games
Wii U: ~10 games
Vita: 3 games
And then there's countless PC games thanks to Steam sales. XD

Re: Video games
I have a couple hundred NES and SNES games. Two huge bins. Most of them are unboxed, just the cartridge. For a while I was picking them up at flea markets, pawn shops, wherever I'd find a new one I didn't have. After a while you get everything but the rare expensive ones so you come to a standstill and thats where I'm at now.
To be honest I don't even play them much, I guess I collected them for nostalgia reasons

Re: Video games
That's funny. I definitely don't play my games as much as people might expect. I think I collect them with a sort of museum/library mentality. I want to create a single place where people can easily enjoy tons of great gaming experiences. I'm working on designing my living room layout for that; it's got like 5 TVs lol.

I think you're the first person I've ever come across that knows what a Coleco Vision is let alone owns one.nairtoons wrote:I have a large collection all my systems still work. Still a few games I'm looking for on . Find most at yard sales and flea markets.

Re: Video games
I know what that is! My parents got one when they were first married. My sister and I used to love playing it when we were little! I'm trying to remember the games we have:
Mouse Trap (similar to PacMan)
Lady Bug (also similar to PacMan)
Donkey Kong
Galaxian
I think maybe one or two others, but I can't remember. Haha those controllers are so hokey!

I also have Mouse Trap and Donkey Kong. Don't think I've ever played Galaxian or Lady Bug.
Other games I have for the Coleco are
Donkey Kong Jr.
Cosmic Avenger
Frenzy
Venture
Pitstop
Artillery Duel
Zaaxon
Rocky Boxing
My favorites though were probably Cosmic Avenger, Frenzy and Venture.
Unfortunately my console burnt out a few years ago. I don't think they're as durable as the Atari's were. But at a local game store I found that they sold something called the Coleco Vision Flashback and it had a bunch of the old games contained in little box that looks like a minature Coleco for $60. And it even came with two controllers that were exactly like the old "hokey" ones.

Re: Video games
I have PlayStation 3 and a bunch of games such as NHL 15, GTA V, Tomb Raider Trilogy and Duck Tales Remastered .
I do recall that, when I was young, my family used to have systems like Amiga, Atari Jaguar, Sega Mega Drive, Sega Saturn and PlayStation 1. And I used to play a lot.
One of the games that I really liked was the James Pond- saga

Re: Video games
If your interested in Sega Genesis, I have a rare item on ebay now. a complete copy of Time Killers
Re: Video games
Is that similar to TimeSplitters? I LOVED that game back in the day! All three are great. And they're working on a 4th! I may just have to get a Playstation 4 or whatever so I can play the new TimeSplitters haha.

No actually Time Killers was a fighting game (mortal kombat style) that pitted warriors / killers from different points in time against each other. The game's big selling point was probably the fact the at any point in a match with a well placed slash of your weapon, you could cut off your opponents arms, legs or head.
It was not uncommon for a player to get both arms and both legs cutoff and have to finish the battle with no arms.

Re: Video games
I started collecting Nintendo Game and Watch games until they got too expensive for the rare ones haha.
I have the following that I can remember off the top of my head
Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong II
Donkey Kong III (Micro vs System)
Donkey Kong Jnr
Donkey Kong Hockey (Micro vs System)
Turtle Bridge
Octopus
Parachute
Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros.
Mario's Cement Factory
Lifeboat
Oil Panic
Green House
Mickey Mouse
Mickey & Donald
Bomb Sweeper
Fire Attack
Snoopy Tennis
Chef
Snoopy (Panorama)
Popeye (Panaorama)
There may be a few more that I am forgetting but they are still fun to play. I got quite a few cheaply because the screens were either very feint or didn't display at all. I was able to repair most of them easily by replacing the polariser film on the screen.. easy to do and a good way to pick up some cheaper games.
