I recently saw The Buddy Holly Story on TCM. It's a good movie. What is interesting is the band in the movie played the actual songs. They had to learn them. I've heard the movie isn't historically accurate but it is still a good movie. RIP Peggy Sue.

The great actor Scott Wilson has passed away at age 76. No cause of death yet.
The entire cast of The Walking Dead has always considered him a close friend and,
even though his character was killed off several seasons ago, he recently completed
filming scenes for the current season starting tonight. Obviously, they would be
flashbacks.

Hugh McDowell, who was best known for his work with ELO and Wizzard during the 1970s died last week at the age of 65. An official cuase of death was not revealed.
Yes star Geoff Downes, who worked with McDowell on the Wetton/Downes Icon albums, broke the sad news to fans via social media. Geoff had the following to say:
"Very sad news to hear that good friend and super cellist, Hugh McDowell has passed away. Apart from his legendary ELO contributions, he was an integral part of all of our Wetton/Downes Icon albums. A great musician and gentleman sadly missed. Thank you Hugh."
Producer Rob Aubrey also paid shared this tribute, "Sad to hear of the death of Hugh McDowell. I recorded him a number of times for John Wetton and Geoff Downes. Always fun and a great ear for a cool part in awe of his tales of life on the road and in the air with ELO. RIP sir."

Bummer, lost another icon of my youth.  My parents watched Hee Haw when I was a kid in the 70's and Roy Clark was my favorite part of the show.  Amazing guitarist.

Ok. Missed this one back in May ...

Zap Rowsdower (Bruce J. Mitchell) Passes Away

June 1, 2018
A sad day for B-Movie and Mystery Science Theater 3000 fans. Bruce J. Mitchell, who played Zap Rowsdower in the movie The Final Sacrifice, has sadly passed away. He did an interview a while back and talked about his experience during the making of the movie. He seemed like a really nice guy who appreciated his opportunity to be in a movie and still be known for it to this day thanks to a new generation finding this gem on such shows as MST3K. His service will be held at the Third Zeox Church in Manitoba.

Davey Boy Smith Jr posted the following on Twitter, announcing the passing of Tom “Dynamite Kid’ Billington. WWE has also confirmed the news. Billington passed away at the age of 60 following a long battle with health issues. He’s best known for his run with the British Bulldogs tag team, and for his innovative matches in the 80s with the original Tiger Mask.
He passed away on Dec 5th, his 60th birthday.

Man those pro wrestlers must lead a hard life.  I haven't heard many of them living into their late 70's or even 80's

Odd you mention that as there was another wrestling death yesterday and he lived to be 82:

PWInsider.com is sorry to confirm reports that Larry Hennig, the former AWA World Tag Team Champion and patriarch to the Hennig wrestling family, passed away today at the age of 82.

Best known to fans today as the father of the late “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig and grandfather to current WWE star Curtis Axel (Joe Hennig), became the Minnesota State High School Heavyweight Champion from Robbinsdale, Minnesota in 1954.  He was awarded a scholarship from the University of Minnesota to wrestle and play football, but eventually withdrew from the school due to family responsibilities.

Trained by Verne Gage, Hennig entered professional wrestling in the early 1960s, seeing it as a conduit to making money for his family.  He held the AWA World Tag Team Championship most famously with Harley Race, who would go on to become one of the definitive NWA World Heavyweight Champions.  At the time, the pair were pushed as the youngest Tag Team Champions ever.  Hennig would also hold the belts, much earlier, with Duke Hoffman.

yeah, love that show! I had never really paid attention to it until it was on MeTV so I watched every episode. I think it lasted 2 seasons before the CBS Purge in the early 70's. Enjoyed watching it.

What many people don't know about Ken Berry was that he was a fantastic tap dancer.
