Running… Empty Running…

What are your tips for cross-country running and jogging, generally speaking? Like, workout techniques and stuff. Just curious, as I run to keep in shape but I want to be ready to run (in case of danger, for example) at a moment's notice too.

I'd rather be jackd with the grip of a vise and in case of danger grab a hold of the perps throat and squeeze until he is unconscious. But that's just me.

I'm a bit of a weakling in the upper half though… so choking a guy won't work. Plus, that doesn't work on bears. Razz

A great program is found in a book called "Run Less Run Faster". It has the same basic template for 5k, 10k, half marathon and full marathon. I've personally expanded the same template to fit my own running for competition in 50k and 50 mile trail races. It's a program that works and only has you running 3 days per week which is great if you love to lift too or do other activities through the week. Worth checking out. If you're just starting to run tho I recommend finding something like a couch to 5k program-one of my best friends started one of those programs, he'd never run previously, and just this past weekend we ran together as he finished his first half marathon.

Here are already posted nice tips. According to me running is good exercise for different purpose. When someone ask me about exercise for weight loss or stay to healthy. I suggest him that first you should run 60 to 90 minutes daily in the morning. It is really effective to improve your stamina and enjoy a healthy life.

Just set your destination and run for it. Make it your regular workout and gradually increase your miles. You will found good results...
