Ikarian - Into The Haze
Gothic metal project by James Allin (Visionaire, Century Sleeper) has a new album coming out entitled Into The Haze and two songs have just been released! They sound great; check 'em out below. For those familiar with James' previous works, this album is going to be a bit heavier than the last, more akin to Mystical Dominion (the first Visionaire album) and featuring more death metal vocals again.
On a somewhat related note, I've been a fan of James' tunes for a long time now and only just a few years ago, I discovered that James and I used to live across the street from one another (though not at the same time). Small world!

Didn't he say he wasn't a christian anymore? What are the lyrics like?

^I remember reading that too a long time ago but don't know where he stands now.
I chatted on FB with James about the lyrics and got to read some too. They're totally clean and are mostly fantasy/fiction, poetry, or metaphorical. According to James, a common theme is overcoming adversity and finding hope in dark places. I didn't find anything objectionable in the least and conversely thought the lyrics were quite thought-provoking and had some good themes.

I like "Something More" quite a bit. The Christian music scene could really use a band with that sound and style.

I have to be in the mood for this, like MSW and Paramaecium. Quality stuff though.

Who all has got this album yet? Now that I've had a little time to digest it, I gotta say, I really dig it. James' death vocals sound great and his cleans as well as the female vocals all sound very good too. The songs are well-written and the whole album has a great atmosphere to it that is pretty unique I think. Strongly recommended!
