Anyone have a "battle jacket"?+

By that I mean a denim jacket decorated with band logo patches and such. I saw a thread about them on HoM and thought I'd see if anyone here has one. I myself have never had one (never owned a denim jacket, and I dont know how to sew patches, though I suppose I could just use buttons instead).

Never owned a denim jacket, never wanted to. Also have never been into patches.

However, growing up in the 70s and 80s, I used to know a lot of people who did it. It was extremely popular at that time.

Even today, if you go to a Stryper show, you'll see some of them.

I've always had a denim jacket, still have one now but never had patches. I believe Guilty/Forgiven has one.

I've had several denim jackets but never wrote, drew or sewn patches on them.  I think I still have an acid wash jacket in my closet.

Well, it's not denim, but I got this Dickie's jacket in college and over the years have accumulated some sweet patches and turned it into a battle jacket.



My friend's mom sewed the Iron Maiden patch on haha.  I then got a few more patches but didn't feel right asking another big favor from her so I took it down to a professional sewing place to have the others added and made the below instructions.  This is what happens when you're an engineer but don't know how to work a sewing machine hahahahaha.  

Dude, Kerrick ! That is phenomenal looking, great job ! I need to get a 2nd jacket and go with a minimal look, it's so much cleaner looking. Mine is like chaos. I'll take a couple snaps and share em with you fine people.....

True Dat All Dat. I have some punk patches/buttons on there as well, and nothing says chaos like punk 

Ironically, the 2 bands I love the MOST aren't on the jacket - reason? I don't care for their logos - CrystavoX and Barren Cross have very sub-par logos that I didn't want to draw on my jacket. When I first began creating the jacket art, I chose bands that I really love, AND who had cool logo art - Like The Crucified, and Die Happy:

here's mine. always felt stupid wearing it so I only wore it in public once that I can remember. Saint concert @ the Moore Theater in Tacoma ... 1988 I believe...

Cool stuff! I used to have some of those Stryper buttons. No idea what happened to all of them, I had a ton.
