Is it just me or does he sound like a little deeper Brian Johnson now?

I haven't listened to anything from this band in 25 year's and this song kinda took me off guard. Not bad at all. It isn't every body knows my name or Silence Is Madness but still good in an ACDC sort of wayish if ACDC was a bit more melodic

It’s certainly a step back in the right direction, musically. Looking forward to hearing more from the new record.

Lyrically I have absolutely no idea what this song is saying. It’s presumably about John the Baptist, but the lyrics don’t really say anything.

All that being said, that part near the end where he keeps saying “who wish it” over and over and over again is grating and very nearly ruined the song for me.

I’m not feeling the tune. It doesnt stand up to anything in side one of Snakes in the Playground. Also, Scarecrow Messiah was the more complete AND the more original album, not an attempt to copy GnR down to the jungle drums. Go visit Boone’s Overstock they’re selling test copies of Snake Eyes for a hundred bucks. Plus they got an album write up with a hard sell....

Judge for yourself....

Title: Snake Eyes
Record Label: Retroactive Records
Release Date: August 21st, 2018 (at the latest)

ABOUT THE ALBUM
A new Harry Potter book, the next Star Wars movie, or even one’s first kiss from that someone special can evoke epic proportions of anticipation. But NONE of those compare to how much Bride fans have anticipated a full-on, legitimate, straight out, unadulterated, no-holds-barred return to the Snakes in the Playground (1992) era Bride sound. Let’s be clear that Bride is without dispute THE most prolific Christian metal band ever. Bride has no less than 24 full length releases under their belts, and every single one drips with passion, relevance, and musical perfection. No one has done it better for longer without quitting. No one. Long-time label partners, Retroactive Records are thrilled to unveil the epic return that fans have longed for and anticipated for 26 years - a new album that fully embraces the iconic Snakes.... era with massive hooks, relentless metal riffs, over-the-top vocals, and cutting edge lyrics. Welcome to the Jungle....with Snake Eyes (2018) the new Bride release that spews venom, and has all the bite fans can take. Brothers Dale and Troy Thompson have created another tour de force metal album that once again raises the bar, and satisfies the most demanding ear candy quotient. Snake Eyes offers nothing less than a fistful of ferocious rock anthems that will be clogging your brainwaves in the days ahead. File this one as one of greatest hard-rock records of its time. Yes, it’s that good! Honestly, no one played metal better in 1992 when Snakes in the Playground released, and with Snake Eyes the band brings that same swagger. For fans of Gun N’ Roses, Skid Row, and Guardian. Available on CD and Vinyl (marbled blue)!

I doubt that it will be anywhere near it. Especially with that much verbal build up.

I went ahead and preordered anyway based on the one song. I'm glad it is a return to a classic sound and not so much Skin For Skin type stuff that I didn't really like at all.

My ears may not be as refined as yours.  What is wrong with the production?  It sounds a lot like "Scarecrow Messiah" to me.

Re: Bride - John The Baptist - Complete song

His vocals seem a bit roadworn but they sound cool anyways. The music was solid bride but the mix seems a bit hazy. Overall solid song. Just a few tweaks here and there as he is exploring this type of music again and I think he will have some amazing releases.

Now on to the lyrical content.....what?......  I got some vague references to John the Baptist but what was the rest of it about? Can anyone tell me what exactly is he talking about? Or is it supposed to be purposely esoteric? Any help in this area is appreciated.
