XT - Saved By The Blood

SIAP. they've been voted the top Christian rock album of 2017. An excellent album. Some epic tracks. The final three take you from the last supper to the crucifixion to the resurrection. Well deserved accolades. My favorite from last year though I do think it was a weak year for new music.

I bought it and just couldn't get into it.  I still prefer their debut by far.

Aren't you more of a rock fan and less of a metal fan?

It was a'ight but the tempos were pretty middling to slow and didn't vary much.

Depends on your definitions of rock and metal, really.  I like Rob Rock, Narnia, Saint, etc.  Those are all metal bands.  I just didn't think the new XT was really as stellar as it could have been.  Why?

It was a'ight but the tempos were pretty middling to slow and didn't vary much.

That pretty much summed it up.  There was no variation to the album at all.  For only 8 songs, this plodded along.  It needed some songs with some giddy-up and go!

It was odd to see the Gary Lenaire new album listed on a list of the year´s christian album. I thought that the guy lives and writes music in atheistic perspective.

I didn´t even know XT have done new album face palm

That was a cool video that definitely makes me look back fondly at the times.  I wish big hair would make a comeback!

Yeah! That was the sound and a look I ( and I guess many of us did ) grew up with.

By the way. The live drummer of XT, Michael Ulvsgärd is just killer drummer!! He played for a long time in Jerusalem, other great Swedish hard rock / rock band.
