Wow, I gotta check this out!

EDIT:

WHOA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the best Christian metal I have heard in at least a decade.

Last band I enjoyed this much was Faith Factor, Hating Evil, or Sword of Judgement!

I would rate it as somewhat awesome.  Which is quite good, because most things don't reach awesome at all!

What's up with all the "unreleased" songs they have on there, with lyrics only?  Weird and annoying.

Written by Patrick Best
(based on 2 Peter 2)

false prophets will rise, ones among you, the people of clarity
false teachers that lie, hidden within you, preaching heresies
denying the master, the Lord who bought them, bringing upon themselves
their condemnation, looming over, their destruction never stills

for the thief comes only to steal - kill - destroy
for the thief comes only to steal - kill - destroy
"behold I send you out"

for you are amongst the wolves

many will follow licentiousness, way of truth shall be reviled
and in their greed they will exploit, false words exemplified
bold and willful, not afraid to revile the glorious ones
their condemnation, looming over, their destruction never stills

for the thief comes only to steal - kill - destroy

"behold I send you out"

for you are amongst the wolves

irrational animals, creature of instinct
born to be caught and killed, suffer their ill days
would have been better for them never to have known the way
for the true proverb, "a dog returns to it's own vomit," weighs

for the thief comes only to steal - kill - destroy

Apparently they are taking the new school "digital only" approach to releases by doing a song at a time and no albums.

While that makes perfect sense for some markets, I don't think the metal scene will ever embrace that.

Regardless, I will keep listening to this excellent band.

This is crazy, I just found out yesterday that I work with the Singer, Patrick. He's a great guy and I've known him for 7 months now. We (and a few co-workers) hung out at a bar and grille yesterday and started talking about music and he said he fronted a local Christian band that "resembles Slayer and Metallica style music but with Christian lyrics". I have yet to listen to anything but thought I'd pass this along.

Okay, had a nice little email back and forth with Patrick (the lead singer) after listening to their stuff and I can answer some of your inquiries. I will simply copy and paste his response below:

thanks brother!
glad you got a chance to check it out and like it!
my whole purpose was to get God's word out and that's what plan on doing
we have about 7 Christian labels wanting to put out our record, but I can't be
sidelined from getting the word out - I've been really convicted by the Holy Spirit
to get the word out and trust God and His divine will for the future
I have no doubt when we have enough material this summer for a full length that
we will have no issues finding a label to put out a physical copy for His glory
please  visit our bandcamp brother and sign up for our mailing list so I can keep you informed
right now we are working on a new lyric video for amongst the wolves to put on our youtube channel
and we are releasing a new song again on april 8th along with a one year anniversary release
on april 19th for our debut EP
God bless brother and please feel free to share with your metal friends!
please pray for God's will for the music
see you at school and we should get together and share a meal on day over spring break
and talk God and music
take care my friend and peace be with you

Interesting, I liked it more than I expected (being a fan of mainly "hair bands"). Sounds like this is something Roxx Records or the new No Life Til Metal Records should sign.

Both song videos posted in this thread sound good.

As alldat said this really isn't my type of music but I like it. When the CD comes out I will buy it. Same with D.O.G. That really isn't what I normally listen to but that CD is pretty awesome as well.
