One Sided War

Finally got it. All killer no filler. If you think Michael Sweet is a bit over exposed with 3 bands, THIS IS THE ONE TO GET.

Yeah, solid listen! I'm not big of his solo stuff and this one is by far his best.

This one musically is his best, but his very first M.S. solo project he did for Benson still holds a very dear place in my heart.

MS's solo stuff before One Sided War is hit or miss for me. I really like the first album from 1994. I also really like Him (hymn project). I don't care for Real at all, but I do like Trust. I'm Not Your Suicide was decent, but doesn't hold my interest.

One Sided War is incredible. It sounds a little like Stryper, but only in that it's metal and has big hooks. Beyond that, it's different than Stryper. The first thing that leaps out are the lead guitar solos...much more aggressive than anything on a Stryper album. Also, there's a diversity to the sound of the rhythm guitar that Stryper doesn't usually have. There's modern riffs and classic-sounding riffs. (Check out the riff on "Only You"! It sounds like Ratt in the mid 80s. I love it! My favorite riff on the album.)

I love Stryper. But One Sided War may be my favorite project Sweet has ever worked on.

I am a huge fan of Michael Sweet's solo albums.  One Sided War is another amazing album to add to his resume.

The songs “I Am” and “Who Am I” back to back are genius....it’s like a conversation with the Almighty.

It's my favorite of his solo albums (except maybe the self-titled for nostalgic reasons).  It's his heaviest and many songs could be released as Stryper songs.

I have followed Michael Sweet's solo career since he left Stryper and I have all or most of his CDs except for the Him demo CD and another 2 song demo CD. I like pretty much all of his music except for Touched (2007) which is ok. One Sided War is an awesome near perfect album. I'm looking forward to his next solo album. One ones I have are:
