Limberlost - Female Fronted Rock

For those of us who have been lamenting the lack of rock bands with hooks and understandable lyrics I have found a young band that has both.  Limberlost is a relatively new band from the Seattle/Tacoma area with a classic rock sound.  They do have great vocals and fantastic musicianship, all with a bit of modern vibe (but not too much).  It's just fun blues based hard rock.

There is a major street in Tucson named Limberlost after one of the town's founders.

I wondered the same thing as well.  There is a Limberlost swamp in Indiana (but I doubt that was the inspiration).  There is also an old book titled "A Girl of the Limberlost" which takes place around the swamp.
I might ask one of the band members the next time I see them.

I actually grew up a few miles from one of the Limberlosts where Gene Stratton Porter grew up and wrote about in her books (Geneva Indiana).  Most of it is farmland now, but there are great efforts going on to buy and reform it back to the natural marshes and swamps. I was wondering about the name as well, but there are many types of Limberlosts. Looking forward to hearing what the actual story behind their name is!
