Vengeance Rising live at SoCal MetalFest

Just got back from seeing Die Happy with a Vengeance, although they didn't play any Die Happy songs so I guess the name change was just for legal protection.  It was great!  The guys were super excited, especially Roger Dale Martin.  They haven't lost any of their skill.  I talked to Roger and also the fill-in singer Jim Settle (who did a solid job on short notice), and they both said the band is looking at possibly writing and recording a new album....

I don't remember any surprise announcement.  Maybe they were referring to a video of Pastor Bob played at the beginning where he showed the cast of his hand that was used for the cover of Human Sacrifice.  He dropped and broke it and now it's giving you the finger.  Pretty funny.

Yeah they played.  I don't know the members so couldn't say about Josh.  They sounded like Saint.  It was my first time seeing semi-elderly people with grey hair playing classic metal and wearing studded belts and wrist-guards, so it was a little odd to me.  Kinda Spinal Tap-esque.  Sorry!  I do like their music itself, but live it was visually funny like sketch comedy.

Yeah, they do look a little odd with all the leather and studs. I haven't seen them live before but have seen recent videos. And Josh is back, only Jerry Johnson was missing.
