Opinion on a band

So Ive come across a thrash band named Angel of Sodom. The lyrics seem to be based on biblical themes from the old testament. I like to sound and stuff but havent been the best at interpreting lyrics. I cant find very many interviews but the one member says he believing in a higher power etc.

Just curious what others opinions are on them. I dont mind secular music but try to avoid an Anti-God vibe.

I don't know about the singer, but given who the other members are (i.e. also members of Renascent and The Slave Eye), my guess is that this is a very pro-Christian band.

Did they say anything other then just not a christian band?

I didnt think many bands nowadays like the stigma of a "Christian Band"

ugh, no... that was it. didn't mention Christians in a band or anything like most do when i ask.

Interesting.  I find that surprising actually.  Either way, I don't imagine you'll find anything evil/anti-Christian in there.

The guitarist Eero and drummer Joonas are practicing Christians. I am not sure about the singer and they hired a bassist for shows. I do not know if he joined.

I hadn't heard of this band before this thread. After a few times through Divine Retribution, I haven't found anything in the lyrics that gives me pause. I would have to say the greatest danger from this band would be a sore neck.    Good stuff.

This is a fun thrash band.  And they're on Spotify!

Hey wait a minute... Eero and Joonas are finnish names...so the band is Finnish? Odd. I´m Fin(n)ish too, but never heard of them. Usually I know the christian metal/heavy/hard rock bands in here, but not this one, so I quess this band is really not a christian. Thrash metal, you said? Should I check this one?

Offtopic: The whole christian metal music scene is dead here in Finland. Back in the days things were different, when there was concerts and festivals and events every weekend or so. Today.....noooothing at all. Pure silence... I know there are bands out there, but you dont see them alive anymore anywhere. You only may go to see some rap/hiphop gigs.... (oh my Lord, why?)  Or does someone disagree (Jusma, Markus etc...?)

I agree. There was a time when there were lot's of concerts, but nowadays nothing :/ . I've heard that they're trying to set up Nokia's Immortal Metal Fest again, but haven't heard any specifics so far. I wanna see this festival coming back.

And about Angel of Sodom... I just like what I've heard. This is some good ol' fashioned thrash done right
