New Mark Slaughter.

Post by Jessrox on Sat Apr 29, 2017 10:20 pm

This is actually pretty good. I was fan of Slaughter back in the day. This has the good time rock and roll vibe that made them popular. Not the greatest song writing, but a catchy anthem. A lot of oldschool 80's musicians are going back to their roots and it's a good thing. https://youtu.be/hO_rFSFDTY0

Got a chance to see Mark and his solo band tonight in Myrtle Beach. Despite Mark's admitted voice issues, the show was solid. They did 5 of the 10 songs from the new album, and several cover songs from Slaughter as well as some Van Halen, ZZ Top and Vinnie Vincent Invasion.

After the 14 song show, I actually got a quick chance to talk with Mark and his bass player, Jaymi Millard. Such cool guys.

Very cool! Last time I saw Mark was with Slaughter prob 1990. I believe they opened for Kiss on the Hot In The Shade tour. Was a long time ago but I remember it being a great show from both bands. Mark said something on stage about them recording "Fly To The Angels" live that night.

I'm listening to the entire album on Spotify. This is really a terrific record. I love the song Halfway There. As a dad and man that is halfway through life, this song's lyrics are poignant. Really enjoying this!
