I'll start with this...if you're getting the vinyl, the following message doesn't apply. It is strictly about the CD.
If you already have this CD (as I do), is there any reason to buy this? It's being remastered, but I think the original still sounds great. These re-releases used to come with bonus, unreleased tracks or with new music. I miss that. Bands now want to keep the sanctity of the original album, but then it loses any real draw to the fans that already have it. There aren't a lot of Holy Soldier fans out there that don't already have this. And with a pressing of only 500 copies, not many more will. I'm not condemning it. I just question it.

Well I for one, am a huge Holy Soldier fan, and only have Last Train on cassette so, that's one reason to buy itFollower of Jesus wrote:I'll start with this...if you're getting the vinyl, the following message doesn't apply. It is strictly about the CD.

Would be cool if they put on some bonus tracks
One that would be cool is, Run Like The Devil, that was supposed to be on this album but instead was left off and later re-recorded by Steven Patrick on his solo album
Not many people have heard that or own that, that would be pretty awesome to have on there, make it the 10 song album it should have been

I'll contend the opposite direction. The CD reissue is for people like me (and Hardcore Christian) who only have the cassette or don't have it at all. How many are rich enough to buy an album twice just for 1-2 extra tracks. If you already have it, the original master sounds fine, and there are 2 bonus tracks you are stuck with a choice. Either spend $15 or so just for two songs ($7.50 per song) or you the fan miss out on two songs. I'd rather see reissues like the Eternal Ryte album or the recent 77's and Circle of Dust reissues where there is an entire CD or two of bonus material available. Make it worth my money to buy it. I know there is enough Holy Soldier material out there to do this.

Last Train is a masterpiece. And why not tack on the live versions of the songs they played from that album on their live cd? Last Train and Virtue and Vice?

I'll pass on this. They are only having the original 9 songs with no bonus material. I already gave the original Myrrh/Word Records and the Japanese Pony Canyon versions all on CD. I don't need another version. This is great for those who don't have the album on record or CD.
If they remastered the Steven Patrick album I would get this as I don't have the album.
