I was in junior high (eighth grade I think), and kid brought the cassette to school.  I was completely floored by the cover art, and even more shocked by the music.  Up until then I thought Kiss or AC/DC was the heaviest music worth listening to.  Changed my young life, and made me an instant fan.

In my opinion, the album that started the prime of Maiden. It also has my favorite tune.

6 hours, 25minutes....no sign of Kerrick.  Obviously, the same CIA goons that finally got to Chuck Barris the other day have swiped Kerrick and are currently attempting to extract critical CMR "behind the scenes" information from him.  Looks like I better go revoke his account's Admin privileges just in case......

I'm joining the "I beat Kerrick" party. Not that much of an IM fan, although this album is one of their few enjoyable albums I know.

Hahahaha oh man, what are we up to now?  Sixteen hours?  I have failed...

Great album though and yes, it definitely began that classic sound of Maiden that we would all come to love so dearly (though the Di'Anno era is very good too).

Wow, I am seriously relieved.  I thought for sure we were going to have to send out a search party for Kerrick.

I was beginning to think maybe he WAS Chuck Barris.

Oh that will wear off eventually, just ask us "veterans"  Laughing

I heard Piece Of Mind first and that is probably why it is my favorite. POM came out when i was in the 7th grade. Bought the cassette at KMart on sale for something like 4.99. NOTB kind of scared me at first for some reason. But hey, I was a kid. Eventually ended up getting NOTB after Powerslave. I bought POM and Powerslave when they were new then went back and bough NOTB on 8Track hahaha. Found it for 25 cents at Target when they were clearing out all their 8-tracks.

21 and a half year "veteran" here, with 8 kids to show for it.  The novelty never wears off for some of us......Laughing

Piece of Mind was the fourth Iron Maiden album for me (I heard NOTB first and then went back and got the three previous releases).....but POM is still my favorite.

I didn't even know who Iron Maiden was at the time of this release. A friend turned me onto them in 1987/88. The first album I heard from them was "Piece of Mind." I saw them on Somewhere on Tour and Seventh Son.
