Podcasts? Oh, and Hello Again!
Hello everyone. It's been a long time. I used to be an active member here a long time ago. Back when the CMR first started and forked off of the original Tourniquet forum I believe. I also went by my real name "Zeb", and an alter-ego "Lanch" for a while. I used to write tabs for Tourniquet and trade CDs with people here on the CMR. Good times. Speak up if you were part of that original group. I haven't searched around here too much but recognized Artie has he approved my membership on the Facebook page.
Anyway, I recently started listening to some of the "As the Story Grows" podcasts (http://www.asthestorygrows.com/) and quickly started becoming nostalgic and missing some of the bands from old and the times here on the CMR. Are there any other good, comparable podcasts you've been listening to lately?
Thanks,
Wig

Hey, Wigeon! Did you apply on Facebook? I'll have to look for it. I don't think I was given a notification of it.

Hey Artie! Yes, and I got a notification the other day that you approved me, lol!
There doesn't seem to be a lot of action there. Is there more there, or here?

It fluctuates. I'm trying to do more in both spots now, so hopefully that will help.

I searched the forum and found Mark Salomon's Never Was podcast. Listened to the one with DVP, fascinating!
Any other recommendations?

Re: Podcasts? Oh, and Hello Again!
I haven't heard As the Story Grows, but some of our Reanimated Radio shows are available as podcasts exclusively in iTunes:
Divine Aggression Radio
Metal Blessing Radio
Resurrection Metal Radio
Menorah Metal
I take it you are more into classic than death or metalcore, Divine Aggression Radio is worth checking out. Kelly plays a good mix of some classics and newer things like Worldview and Disciple

Thanks, I'll check it out. I'm into all sorts of good music. Classic, new, some death and metalcore, prog, thrash, but not much into punk, hardcore, power metal or black metal. Really more interested in podcasts with interesting people talking though, not so much the music. For new and classic music, I listen to my buddy Steve's weekly show "Faster for the Master" - https://soundcloud.com/nocontrolradio and https://www.facebook.com/FasterForTheMaster/
He is also know as James Hetfield's long lost twin brother.

Re: Podcasts? Oh, and Hello Again!
It's funny, the CMR must have been around a long time, because every time someone comes around and says "I was here in the old days", it's always before my time.
I joined in 2012 (and re-joined in 2016 after a short hiatus), and I have never seen the usernames these old timers mention.

I think the original forum was started sometime around 2000 or 2001 by Chris (he still here?). Most of us original members came over from the Tourniquet forum. Luke from Tourniquet used to frequent the CMR, as well as Jeff Lain (Cyberduck) from Betrayal until he fell off of the face of the earth in early-mid 2000s. There was a lot of drama, flame wars, leaving, coming back and making up, etc. Guess that's why I don't see some of those original members here any more

I wasn't an original member, but I go back to 2001! I remember you! Welcome back!
Re: Podcasts? Oh, and Hello Again!
Hey Wigeon! I used to go by BryanLovesTrek back in the Tourniquet board days and the fledgling CMR days. Then it was metalholic and now just metalh. The CMR was actually started by Trashcanman50 aka Jake. He ran it for a few years, and then decided to part ways. That's when Arttie took over. I joined the TQT Swirve boards in maybe '99 or 2000 before they got hacked. Then we moved over to a different server and that's around the time Jake started the CMR. I joined CMR pretty soon after it started.

Welcome back. I'm an old timer too but was more active on the Firestream forum before it changed to a video game forum. I think it was hacked and then came back as a game forum. And I think someone brought it back but it just isn't the same so I haven't visited there in a few years.
