Album that you changed your mind on.
After the discussion about River Disturbance and Hear What I Say I can admit to being wrong on them. I wonder if I don't give albums enough time to grow on me if they don't grab me right away.
Anyways, what's an album or two you've done this with?

The first Mad At The World. I went into the Christian Bookstore looking for something heavy. The guy assured me it was. I was greatly disappointed and gave the cassette away a few days later. I hated it. However, many years later I find it quite enjoyable.

To be honest, I don't really change my mind. Either it grabs me or it doesn't. I've gotten rid of albums in the past because I couldn't stand them, heard great things about them, and bought them again wondering what I missed just to discover that I still didn't like it. Yes, I know......I have issues. But, I have a lot of fun!!!!

Oh, to be as steady minded as the alldat.
I need to revisit Mad At the World, see if my opinion has changed.

immediately comes to mind is Tourniquet Stop The Bleeding...I could not STAND it when I first got it (during the buy everything that has the christian label era)...
don't remember exactly how long but within a year it became and still to this day is easily a top 5 all-timer for me...
second one is The Crucified Selftitled...didn't hate it but it was "meh"...again, it's now an all-timer
there are others, as I am usually opposite of alldat, but those are the two big ones...I don't like most records the first time I hear them although that seems to be less common with age...

I sort of agree with Stop The Bleeding, I only liked about two songs at first and now I like four.

Re: Album that you changed your mind on.
First of all I seldom give a style of music a chance that I am definitely not into (alternative, pop ...).
But according to my most favourite style (thrash and death)
same with me as crucifyd:
Nearly all my alltime faves grew on me and I did´t like the the first or second listen:
Vengeance rising: was searching for some speed metal, didn´t like
the harsh and rumbling sound. I love it since 1990!
Tourniquet - Stop the bleeding: Could´t stand the vocals. Totally love them nowadays!!
The Crucified selftitled: to much punk attitude then, now alltime fave.
Mortification Scrolls: Thought I`d pass on this gindcore thing but alltime fave nowadays...
...and so on...
I think really good music deserves many many listenings
and does not become boring - if you know what I mean.

I think the word here would be: opinionated. Having a steady mind is never something that anyone should ever accuse me of. I'm the guy with musical A.D.D., remember? Over 5 minutes is still TOO LONG!!!!
I've revisited those first two MATW records. I still don't like them. Start me with album 3 and continue through 6. Leave off those first two and the final. If Roger and Randy every decide to do something with the MATW moniker on it, I pray it is a rock record!!!

Sacrament "Haunts Of Violence"....didn't care for it at first, but now a decade later I enjoy it.

Re: Album that you changed your mind on.
I honestly can't think of one. There's just TOO MUCH music out there. If I put something down because it doesn't grab me, chances are it just gets buried under the avalanche of other stuff available to listen to.

The one that I got to mind now is Steven Patrick's "Red Reign". I bought it only because he was Holy Soldier's vocalist . The song's sounded "ok" but didn't grab me the first time. But, then one time I decided to give it a shot and was HOOKED

Re: Album that you changed your mind on.
Not Christian, but Rush albums past the mid '80s were for me, at first, kinda meh. They didn't have the magic of the early songs. I've come to appreciate them as albums, though, especially Power Windows. It has killer songwriting, it just takes a bit to grow.
Also, Stryper - Murder By Pride took a while to grow as well. I think part of it is me being a weird snob and not liking the Eb guitar tuning. Strangely, Stryper is one of the few bands I don't really enjoy listening to in general, just not quite my thing. But the songs on MBP have grabbed me.

I think the production on those Rush albums was part of the problem. One way past the 80's but Vapor Trails sounded awful, so glad the fixed it.
