My dad

I know you don't know me well, however I would value your prayers for my dad who has stage 4 prostate cancer which can no longer be treated and is spreading through his body fast. Please pray that he can receive care to treat his pain/symptons and value his final days.

Please also pray for my family & I. We have a prepaid holiday that begins on Sunday for a couple of weeks, however things with my dad went downhill fast in the last few days. I really hope that nothing happens while we are away (it would require me to book flights home etc and leave me wife & children) and that I can enjoy my time away and not worry. I know there is nothing I can do and God is in control, however it is hard not to find my mind dwelling on what is happening.

My mother has mental health issues which also complicates things, and my dad has been her carer rather than the other way around.

Thanks everyone. Heading off for holiday and will update you when I'm back and I know more.

Thanks to God and for those who prayed. Had a great holiday with my family and was able to put aside what was happening with my parents. Praise to God for my loving wife & kids also.

Unfortunately my dads situation has worsened and I feel really bad for him knowing that there is not much they can do for him. It is hard also not being able to do anything to help. Soon they will need to start managing the symptons and pain effectively. He is meeting with his specialist on Thursday to discuss this.

My mum apparently has been getting abusive of my dad, and even started screaming at him in hospital that he is ruining her life. She refuses to get any medical help. I think she is hoping that her children will take over from my dad and do everything for her. I don't think she realises we are all adults with families of our own. Plus, none of us really have any emotional relationship with her. She was always distant and uninvolved when we were growing up, and as I young child used to dream regularly that she was a vampire.

I hate to think what she will be like when he passes away, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

After a hard fought battle with cancer my father passed away in hospital this morning. 

Please pray for my family and his arrangements. My mothers mental state is much worse since last posting as well.
